Update on Kerry Road Roundabout
We are pleased to inform you that works are progressing well with the tie in works and the weather has been kind to us. We have carried out the drainage, service diversions and earthworks, placed sub-base and kerbs and are now in the process of laying the surfacing, which you can see in the photo.
Over the weekend, we will be raising gullies and completing the verges so we can lay the final temporary layer of surfacing next week. We will then be installing temporary white lines and signs, and completing footways before opening the road back up.
With such good progress made to date, we are hopeful that we will be able to open the road slightly earlier than originally advised. We will of course inform everyone as soon as we are able to confirm this.
We will need to carry out further works on the roundabout in the future such as the final layer of surfacing and installing signs and street lighting. These finishing works will be completed closer to the opening of the main bypass with minimum traffic disruption.
We would like to express our thanks to you for your patience and understanding during the temporary closure.
