Progress - October 2017

155 ‘L’ shaped concrete sections are being installed across the new bridge. Each section weighs between 3 and 9 Tonnes and will provide strength and safety. Installation takes place with the main London to Swansea railway still open so safety is our No. 1 priority.


80 Tonne Crane Arrives on site - 25th September 2017

This 80 Tonne crane arrived at Hawes Lane on Monday, 25th September to lift the concrete sections onto the roadway which will take traffic on and off the bridge. The transporter bringing the crane onto site from Kent has 32 wheels, 16 of which steer the rear trailer.


Site Registered for Considerate Constructors Scheme - 4th September 2017

On Monday, 4th September the project was registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) which aims to improve the image of our industry.

Construction sites voluntarily register with the scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.   We will be monitored and scored by an independent assessor against this Code.  The results will identify good practice and areas for improvement.
