We have set aside four weeks commencing 6th August for final surfacing on the outstanding sections of the A350 and the A4 either side of the Chequers Roundabout. This will be combined with lining and stud work. Whilst the project will then be substantially completed, it is anticipated some Traffic Management will remain in place until the final completion takes place in early Autumn.
This work needs to be completed at night 8pm – 6am due to the reduced traffic volume and will require full night time road closures of the A350 from the Lackham Roundabout right through to Bumpers Farm Roundabout. The A4 east and west of Chequers will also be closed at times. Diversions and Matrix signage will be in place. Diversion maps are available via Wiltshire Council Highways webpages for the A350 Phase 3 improvement works.

We will minimise noise and disruption as far as possible.
Week commencing 9th July, we will commence widening the east side of Chequers roundabout. This will be undertaken in the same way as the west side with night time work and the use of temporary traffic lights between 8pm until 6pm. The night time operations will take approximately four weeks.
There is still the need for off-peak lane restrictions (9.30am – 3.30pm) around Chequers Roundabout, to accommodate ongoing cabling work in the area. Whilst works continue around Chequers, we shall be using the centre area of the roundabout as an area for stock piling. The works on the A4 either side of Chequers roundabout are due to be completed in September.
Traffic Management needs to be in place throughout the length of the works sections on the A350 for the duration of the works.
Drawings from our Traffic Management contractor explaining how this will be implemented are below. Click on the links below to view. There will be a temporary speed limit through the traffic management of 40mph.
