Hawes Lane is situated in the lanes between the A48 Newport to Cardiff Road and the St Brides coastline.
The project is part of the Great Western Rail Modernisation Programme and in preparation for electrification of the railway. Griffiths is pleased to have been appointed main contractor by Network Rail.
The Hawes Lane project commenced in June 2016 with the demolition and removal of the old road bridge taking traffic over the main Swansea to London railway.
Over 500 concrete piles were driven into the ground to support the concrete bridge which is high enough to accommodate electrically powered trains.
Construction will continue until Spring 2018.
