Education & Employment

We directly employ over 600 people and the ongoing training and development of these employees is of great importance.

Through our projects we provide career opportunities for local people seeking full-time work and specifically target groups who may be facing barriers to employment.

Employment and training targets are set within our annual Sustainability Challenge.

We are committed to addressing the current skills gap within the construction industry and through the provision of construction apprenticeships, graduate employment and our Sally Safesteps and ICE Bridge to Schools initiatives, we aim to attract the best, bright young people and promote the sector.

We also provide training to local communities and Exchanging Places educates cyclists and pedestrians about safely around construction vehicles on the public highway.
